Thick Big Boned Ebony Woman 1960 Hanging Boobs Dark Nipples 5×4 Stockings Q8224
Many people argue that nipples and mammary glands aren’t sexual organs and shouldn’t be censored, but it’s been 10 years since filmmaker Lina Esco launched her Free the Nipple campaign, which has since become a global movement, and in a decade, not that much seems to have changed. Despite us seeing boobs everywhere, in advertising, art and beyond, the nipple is very much still taboo.
Even the word and associated words are often delivered in hushed tones, bolstered by ‘inappropriate’ . Bodyform recently shared relating to female health and wellbeing that are censored by Instagram, Facebook and TikTok – these words include lactation, boobs, breastfeeding and of course nipples. Meta announced back in January that it was going to finally “free the nip” after breastfeeding mothers held a at Facebook’s headquarters, but this promise has seemingly amounted to nothing yet.
It’s a gargantuan task to unpick the threads of patriarchy and take us all back to ground zero. I can feel great when I go out not wearing a bra, but that doesn’t mean some guys in a van won’t shout ‘boobs!’ at me as they drive by. The seismic shift that’s required in order to free the nip while feeling safe on the street and also being allowed to indulge in is one that isn’t going to happen overnight, but we could start by not slut shaming each other for just having breasts and nipples. It begins when we’re school age and follows us throughout our adult lives, making it more challenging to simply exist in our bodies.
