Bambi’s thread was recently updated and I noticed an Imdb link. That page has her birth name and stage name (at the top of her thread as aliases) and fired up the Google machine because I enjoy trying to find info on these lovely vintage ladies. The search turned up an Ancestry page where she married a man named John Daston. My brain instantly realized that she looks a lot like Playmate Audrey Daston so I went down the internet rabbit hole. Audrey was born in Idaho in 1936 and Bambi was also born in Idaho but in 1939. So we have two ladies who look remarkably similar, both from the same state, both connected to the name Daston, and both posed nude in the late 1950s. Last year I found a scan of Modern Man magazine with blonde Audrey listed as Bambi Hamilton. Guess it didn’t connect in my brain at that moment. I’ll include that photo along with a side by side for comparison.
Spiral bound, paperback publication, 69 pages. This publication is not unlike Playboy, in that it presents careful nude photography, with articles on women, sports cars, and sports itself. Nice artwork throughout; this publication was done with care indeed. Lovely color photography on front cover. 1960, Volume 18, Spring Edition, Publishers Development Corp., Skokie, Illinois. This particular issue features coverage of: Chris Starr, Eve Eden, Joan Tabor, and Bambi Hamilton. Articles include a look at Jai Alai, Cars of the early 1900s, Building a hotrod, and “Geisha with Gams.” Fiction bonus by Bob Bristow. ADULTS ONLY.
